The “World Space Week” was declared by the United Nations (UN) in 1999 to show the advances in space science and its benefits to humankind. It is celebrated annually from 4/10 (lunch of the first satellite Sputnik 1 in 4/10/1957) and until 10/10 (Sign of the Outer Space Treaty at 10/10/1967).

This year (2014) the Theme is “Space: Guiding your Way” to show the extensive use and value of GPS navigation and space technologies. The Space Week  includes many space activities and events around the world.
