Antartica Pinguins

Go South: Antarctica The White Continent

Posted on Posted in Antartica, Photography

Welcome to Antarctica – The “White Continent”

A trip to Antarctica can be a bit of a challenge, but it will also be very different from anything you have already seen in your travels.

So what can you do in Antarctica?

The best time to visit Antarctica is from November and until March when You will see a lot of Ice Bergs and Glaciers and hopefully a few Seals and penguins…

So how do i get There?

Searching for Hotel in Antarctica? you can stop searching! because there are No Hotels in Antarctica!, apart from several research stations there are no permanent inhabitants in Antarctica.

Most travellers come to Antarctica by Boats, most of them originate from Argentina and Chile, they travel during the days and stay on the boats during the cold nights.

You will obviously need Cold Weather clothing and also a Medical insurance (with an emergency evacuation option).

Checkout the following link of Matt Long’s Blog on Landlopers.com for many articles on Antarctica with Great Pictures:

    1. Hello Seema,

Glad to hear from you, i am not sure i understand your question, but if you are going with your entire family (and kids?) you should take it into account and plan your trip accordingly. October is the start of the Season in Antarctica so there are great views but it’s still very Cold.

Check out the IAATO (International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators) website for many Frequently Asked Questions:
      http://iaato.org/frequently-asked-questions

I would also advice posting your questions on these forums:

You can also try and contact Matt Long from Landlopers.com (http://landlopers.com/contact/), He has been several times to Antarctica.

So have fun in Antarctica :-)
